About
Reece Laperriere
Reece LaPerriere was born in Davis, California, living there until he was a little more than 3 years old. He later moved to Southwest Michigan, with his parents, for a business opportunity. Reece has enjoyed taking photos and videos since he was a small child. When he purchased his first smart phone, he could not stop taking photos and editing them on the camera app. Prior to that, Reece's grandfather "Dr. Bob" introduced his son, Jim, to photography. And Jim eventually passed it onto Reece. Reece was mesmerized from the very beginning.
At the age of 17 and after living in Idaho for 13 months, Jim gifted Reece his highly respected Sony a6000 for Christmas. After that, Reece's dream began to become a reality.
Since Reece received this mirrorless camera, he has found his passion may be more than a hobby or something to do for fun, but a possible profession. It may be an area of study for school after high school. After returning from Idaho, Reece enrolled at The Leelanau School in Glen Arbor, Michigan. With help from his parents, he's continued down this path, taking several photography classes, progressing very quickly. He was immediately moved into Photography 2 after the instructor admired his natural skill level.
Reece now resides in Traverse City full-time where he is attending Northwest Michigan College and is studying business. During his time in college, Reece will be continuing his education & learn how it will be applied in his profession.
His vast drive does not stop with photography, Reece is a lover of everything Northern Michigan has to offer. Reece notes that some of his favorite things to do in NoMi include Surfing, Skiing, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Onewheeling, Boating and so much more.
